Description:

We're looking for an experienced leader to manage the process flow within Logistics warehouses and the workload of a small team of Logistics Operatives.  You'll have the experience and skills to maintain an effective operation in a high pressure environment and consistently achieve quality service delivery to the Customer whilst promoting best practise through example, target setting and ongoing review.  

This will involve:



  • Preparation of daily workload from the Sales Order Book and print picksheets and pallet labels

  • Planning shift activities and staffing requirements

  • Allocating work to appropriate Logistics Operatives

  • Generating transportation quotes within 3 working days for Operation department.

  • Reviewing staff requirement and booking appropriate Agency staff as and when required.

  • Co-ordinating the efforts of the Logistics Operatives to ensure all work is completed on time

  • Accountability for the quality of all product receipts and despatches carried out by the team

  • Investigating and resolving all stock discrepancies or damages through the application of route cause analysis and problem resolution

  • Holding regular meetings to communicate feedback and promote adherence to best practise; encourage the participation, co-operation and contribution of the whole team

  • Identifying, co-ordinating and promoting improvement and 5S activities and ensuring the team develops and works to standard operating procedures, health and safety etc

  • Co-ordinating PA Checks (Perpetual Audit) and annual Stock Take activities

  • Responsibility for the recruitment, appraisal, training and development of all Logistics Operatives

  • In accordance with Company Policy address all disciplinary matters concerning Logistics Operatives in conjunction with Factory Manager.

  • Raising requests or direct purchase orders for handling, packaging and safety equipment as required

  • Responsibilty for the overall warehouse and yard environment and general health and safety

  • Attending meetings as required as a representative of Logistics

  • Undertaking performance monitoring and reviews

  • Planning the rota for On Call cover as and when required.

  • Arranging and authorising overtime hours in conjunction with the Factory Manager

  • Conducting annual review meetings with Haulage companies.




WHAT YOU'LL NEED:



  • 2 years experience in Logistics environment

  • Supervisory experience

  • Computer literacy

  • Reach truck license

  • Counterbalance truck license

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Good numeracy and literacy

  • Health and Safety awareness
